Tecnosil Active Silica
The capacity of a mineral additive, Active Silica (microsilica), to react at ordinary temperatures with calcium hydroxide (present in the wet Portland cement mix) and to produced additional hydrated calcium silicate causes a significant reduction in the porosity of the matrix and transition zone in the interface.

The addition of 5 to 8% of Tecnosil Active Silica relative to the weight of the cement improves the characteristics of concrete and mortar, both fresh and hardened, providing:
• Reduction in cement consumption;
• Improved performance, preventing chemical aggressions, penetration of chloride ions, RAA;
• Low permeability, porosity, absorptivity;
• Greater mechanical resistance;
• Improved adherence of the mix/reinforcement and mix/aggregates;
• High resistance to aggressive environments;
• Lower reflective index in shotcrete;
• Enables a greater application thickness in shotcrete;
• Increased cohesion;
• Decreased exudation;
• Best performance against abrasion and erosion.
